Supporting the Beading Community since 1988.
Bead Bazaar started out as a tiny, windowless, hole-in-the-wall store in the Historic Fairhaven District of Bellingham, WA. We were on the 3rd floor of a 100 year old building with no elevator. That was November 1988. We grew and thrived and after expanding twice in six years we left that building altogether to find a larger place. We moved into our current ground floor location two blocks away from the original space and have been there ever since.
For 26 years we served our local community of beaders through our brick and mortar retail front. They ranged from university students looking to take a break from their studies to consummate bead artists who designed and sold their creations. Our selection has been influenced by the regional and national trends we have seen over the years and by the people who have come through our doors looking for particular items.
This December 2014 we closed our retail store to continue selling bead kits online.
Bead Bazaar is located in the Historic Fairhaven District of Bellingham WA. This is a lovely area just a few blocks up from Bellingham Bay and the ferry terminal. (As well as the bus and train terminals.) Many of the buildings date back to the late 1800’s at which time Bellingham was vying for the shipping business that Seattle eventually won. At this time there are a variety of unique local shops to browse in and restaurants to try out. We are also noted for our Greenway paths that connect the shopping district with the water and parks in the surrounding area. If you are interested in driving along the water and viewing the San Juan Islands the beautiful Chuckanut Drive leads to Fairhaven.
